Pahokee is only a 55-minute ride from West Palm Beach but it is not long enough to prepare you for what you will experience when you arrive there. The diversity of Palm Beach County is seen from the great wealth of Palm Beach Island on the eastern-most edge to the extreme poor urban neighborhoods of the western-most part.
It’s hard to imagine that such poverty is in the same affluent county that makes its home to millionaire’s and celebrities. For those in Pahokee, lack, dismay, and hopelessness are their abode. Some say the nutrient-rich soil of Pahokee is their fortune. We say, the treasure is in their people. In the midst of this small town, there remains a remnant of greatness….“Super-ness”, if you will. These are our PAHOKEE SUPERKIDS!
